The death toll due to the Coronavirus in Spain has reached by 514 in a single day, as the situation in the country is worsening day by day.
According to official figures reported by the authorities, approximately 40,000 are infected, including some 5,400 health care workers among those confirmed cases.
The total number of deaths has reached 2,696 in the country.
After Italy, which has recorded more than 6,000 deaths so far, Spain is the second-worst affected country in Europe.
Most cases were reported in Madrid, Catalonia and the Basque Country, however, infection numbers are also growing in other regions.
Castilia-La Mancha and Castilla y Leon, which border the capital, have equally seen a significant increase in cases. The worrying part is that both regions have large elderly populations.
