Desperate search for survivors following the deadly Siberian dam collapse tragedy

Rescuers continued another desperate search for survivors on Sunday, following the collapse of a dam at a gold mine about 160 km (100 miles) south of the city of Krasnoyarsk, in Siberia, Russia, early on Saturday.

According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Krasnoyarsk Region, 15 workers were killed and 6 people are still missing.

Since Saturday evening, about 270 people were involved in a search-and-rescue operation. police dogs and divers also participated in this search for the 6 unaccounted people.

As a reminder, the possible causes of the dam collapse were allegedly reported to be due to heavy rains and violation of safety rules in construction of the dam.
