Mauritius: Prime minister dissolves parliament, general election scheduled for November 7

Mauritian Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth announced the dissolution of parliament on Sunday.

According to the law, the country has a lapse of time of 30 to 150 days to arrange elections after the prime minister dissolves parliament.

The next legislative elections will be held on November 7th. As for the Nomination Day, it will take place on October 22nd.

“I have advised the president of the republic to dissolve Parliament and to issue the writ for general elections,” expressed the prime minister in a statement.
