Mauritius will soon see its beaches upgraded to 5 stars

Beaches of Mauritius are mostly crowded during weekends with hundreds of visitors respectively. those who frequently visit beaches of the island are familiar with the problem of ‘going to the beach and not knowing where to settle with their belongings’. To make it worse, despite the shower corner and toilet facilities provided, it is not always easy to wait for one’s turn in a long queue.

Thus, in order to deal with these predicaments, the Beach Authority has decided to set in motion a three-year-old plan to redevelop the beaches of the islands starting with one of the most frequented beaches of the island, Mon-Choisy beach. The Beach Authority is planning to turn Mon-Choisy a unique park in Mauritius. The national management plan for public beaches will be the first thing the Beach Authority’s (BA) is planning to work on this year.

The director of the BA and the technicians will soon meet officials from the Ministry of Local Government to initiate discussions concerning the implementation of this new plan.

Among others, the managing plan will include the development of coastal areas and coastal protection of beaches. The affected beaches namely: Mon-Choisy, Péreybère, Mare-la-Raie, Belle-Mare, Flic-en-Flac, and La Prairie will be highly taken care of and protected.

However, the Mon-Choisy beach will be the first one targeted. As a reminder, maintenance works on this beach have been completed since November. The necessary infrastructure will now have to be put in place.

According to a source at the Beach Authority, the beach management plan will change the way people use the beaches. The aim of this plan is to offer more options to the public as well as more comfort. The Beach Authority which has already started its beach cleaning system also aims to keep them permanently clean.

Mauritius still one of the most favorite holiday destinations of French tourists

The Beach Authority has indeed decided to provide the beach with all kinds of luxuries. An open-air park spread over 16.7 hectares and free of charge is also in the plan. The park will have to complement the beach and the lagoon and offer multiple activities.

The Beach Authorities also have on its agenda to develop beach soccer fields, jogging trails, relaxation areas, an outdoor gymnasium, space for camping, a food court worthy of a shopping center, open showers and modern toilets.

Last but not least, visitors will have the option of spending the day with nautical activities offered by private operators, or some sport, relaxation or meditation.
