Pakistan: Dengue fever gaining ground, over 9000 people infected

The dengue fever keeps spreading across the country and the number of people being infected continue to increase at high pace. So far, more than 9000 cases of the mosquito-borne disease have been recorded according to the health authorities.

Sindh province has recorded about 2,567 against 2,287 two days earlier.1,790 cases have been enumerated on the side of Baluchistan province while 2,606 people diagnosed by the virus have been noted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province.

The country’s capital, Islamabad has not been spared by this outbreak, with 2,256 cases confirmed.

For their part, the health authorities deployed several measures to fight against this plague and awareness campaigns are being organised for the safety of the population.
