At the end of last month, the Duke and the Duchess have finally been officially freed from their royal duties. No doubt that their decision has made them subject to harsh criticism among the British people.
According to the British tabloids, for the time being, the couple has no intention to delete their official ‘Sussexroyal’ Instagram account, instead, they have decided to keep it as well as the Sussex Royal website as an archive.
However, the parents of Archie have disabled instagram, thus no Instagram users are be able to post a remark, moreover comments already posted are no longer visible.
On Tuesday a spokesman for Meghan and Harry explained the decision in a statement released: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will no longer use the name Sussex Royal for their charitable organization, Instagram or website. Following today’s post, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will no longer post on Instagram under the @sussexroyal handle and will also no longer update SussexRoyal.com website.”
“Both the Instagram account and website will remain in existence online for the foreseeable future, although they will be inactive.”
As a reminder, the Duke and the Duchess posted a final message to their Instagram: “As we can all feel, the world at this moment seems extraordinarily fragile. Yet we are confident that every human being has the potential and opportunity to make a difference—as seen now across the globe, in our families, our communities and those on the front line—together we can lift each other up to realise the fullness of that promise.” They wrote.
Adding: “What’s most important right now is the health and wellbeing of everyone across the globe and finding solutions for the many issues that have presented themselves as a result of this pandemic. As we all find the part we are to play in this global shift and changing of habits, we are focusing this new chapter to understand how we can best contribute.”
They concluded their message with a note of gratitude to the community for their unfailing support. “Thank you to this community – for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great!”
