The bodies of 39 people have been found in a truck container in Essex including 38 adults and one teenager.
According to the authorities, the truck, driven from Bulgaria, entered the UK through the Welsh port of Holyhead during the weekend.
Police officers were alerted by the ambulance service after the discovery at Waterglade Industrial Park in Eastern Avenue, Grays, as relates BBC News.
“We are in the process of identifying the victims, however, I anticipate that this could be a lengthy process”.
The truck driver of 25 years, from Northern Ireland, has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the bodies were discovered.
“We have arrested the lorry driver in connection with the incident who remains in police custody as our enquiries continue,” the Chief Superintendent said.
