The Border Security Force (BSF) Punjab Frontier has reported major successes in its operations along the 553‑kilometre border with Pakistan in 2025. Inspector General Dr. Atul Fulzule, while addressing the annual press conference at JCP Attari in Amritsar on the eve of the 61st Raising Day of the BSF, stated that the force has intercepted 272 drones sent from across the border to drop arms, ammunition and narcotics, and seized more than 367 kilograms of heroin since January this year, along with consignments of ICE and opium. He added that BSF troops neutralized three Pakistani intruders and apprehended 18 Pakistani nationals, four Nepalis and three Bangladeshis during attempts to infiltrate. In addition, the force confiscated over 10 kilograms of RDX, 12 hand grenades and 200 arms, while also apprehending 251 Indian suspects including 133 smugglers involved in trafficking of weapons and narcotics. Dr. Fulzule emphasized that the BSF has not only safeguarded the border but also coordinated with Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh authorities to maintain law and order during elections and other critical occasions, underscoring the force’s unwavering commitment to national security.
