Jalandhar, December 25
Commissionerate Police Jalandhar, as part of its special drive against criminals, has achieved a significant success by arresting two accused involved in robbery and recovering two illegal pistols from their possession.
Sharing the details, Commissioner of Police Jalandhar, Dhanpreet Kaur, said that the operation was carried out under the supervision of Shri Manpreet Singh Dhillon, DCP/INV, Jayant Puri, ADCP/INV, Aakarshi Jain, ADCP-I, Sanjay Kumar, ACP/North, and Amarbir Singh, ACP/D, and was executed by the police teams of In-charge CIA Staff Jalandhar and SHO, Police Station Division No. 8, Jalandhar.
Kaur further informed that on the night of 22.12.2025, the police received information regarding an attempt by two unidentified persons to rob a vehicle at gunpoint. In this regard, FIR Number 311 dated 23.12.2025 was registered at Police Station Division Number 8, Jalandhar under Sections 302(2), 3(5), 62 BNS, and 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act.
During the course of investigation, using technical assistance and human intelligence, the police team attempted to apprehend the accused near Ramnīk Avenue towards Bulandpur Road. During the operation, the accused opened fire at the police party, following which the police took retaliatory action and safely apprehended both accused.
The arrested accused have been identified as Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh, son of Kashmir Singh, resident of Village Nawan Naushera, Police Station Purana Shala, District Gurdaspur, and Tejbir Singh alias Teji, son of Sukhwinder Singh, resident of Village Kot Budha, Police Station Sekhwa, District Batala. From their possession, the police recovered one 32 bore pistol and one 30 bore pistol.
