The Annual Sports Prize Distribution Function of Panjab University for the session 2025–2026 was held with great enthusiasm at the University Gymnasium Hall on March 25, 2026. Government College of Education (GCE), Sector 20-D, Chandigarh, delivered an outstanding performance across multiple sporting disciplines in the C Division category, securing top honors in both men’s and women’s sections. The institution proudly bagged the winners’ trophies in Chess, Kho-Kho, and Athletics in the men’s category, showcasing exceptional skill, teamwork, and determination.
In the women’s category, GCE 20-D continued its winning streak by claiming the winners’ trophies in Basketball, Badminton, and Athletics, further reinforcing its dominance in university sports.
Adding to this remarkable achievement, GCE Sector 20-D Chandigarh emerged as the Overall Champions in both the men’s and women’s categories in C Division — a rare and commendable feat that highlights the institution’s sporting excellence and consistent performance.
This remarkable success was achieved under the able guidance and leadership of Dr. Neelam Paul, Associate Professor of Physical Education, whose dedication, mentorship, and constant encouragement played a pivotal role in motivating the athletes to excel.
Principal Dr. Sapna Nanda lauded the achievements of the students and staff, appreciating their hard work, discipline, and commitment. She congratulated the entire team for bringing pride to the institution and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in future competitions.
As a recognition of their stellar accomplishments, the college was awarded a cash prize of ₹51,000 each in both the men’s and women’s categories.
