Harsimrat Badal Slams MNREGA Amendment Bill as ‘Black Laws’

New Delhi, December 18

Former Union Cabinet Minister, presently representing Bathinda as Member of Parliament and senior Akali leader Harsimrat Badal while addressing the Lok Sabha today raised a strong voice against the “MNREGA Amendment Bill”. Terming the Amendment Bill as nothing but “Black Laws” against labourers, she demanded its immediate withdrawal. “Through this amendment, the Centre is attempting to turn the rightful entitlements of labourers into charity, a move that the Shiromani Akali Dal strongly and unequivocally opposes”, she thundered in the Parliament. Meanwhile, Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge along with INDIA bloc MPs protested in Parliament House complex on the MGNREGA issue.
