Ludhiana, February 18
The NSS Wing and Red Ribbon Clubs of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) organised an Inter College Poster-Making Competition on Tuberculosis. The competition was a part of a series of events organised by Nation Service Scheme in which Dr. Veenu Gupta, Prof. and Head, Department of Microbiology, Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, raised awareness about early diagnosis of TB, its free treatment (DOTS) and prevention. She also elaborated upon the key symptoms of the same and misuse of AMR.
The poster making competition offers participants a creative platform to foster greater awareness around these critical issues like TB and AMR, said Dr. R.S.Aulakh, Director Students’ Welfare.
Dr. Nidhi Sharma, Assistant Director, Publications and NSS Programme Coordinator, informed, “As many as 85 students from four colleges participated in the poster-making competition on the theme – Awareness on TB.”
Dr. Vishal Sharma and Dr. S.S.Hassan, NSS Programme Officers of College of Animal Biotechnology and College of Fisheries, added that after the competition, Red Ribbon Club and NSS volunteers would also hold an awareness rally in campus.
