NSS, Panjab University hosts blood donation camp

Chandigarh, March 17

NSS, Panjab University (PU) organised a blood donation camp at the Student Centre, in Sector 14, University campus. PU Vice Chancellor Prof Renu Vig inaugurated the blood donation camp, where she encouraged students to participate in such humanitarian initiatives and contribute to saving lives.

As many as 47 students donated blood. The initiative was aimed to raise awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and to instil a sense of social responsibility among students.

Addressing the volunteers, Prof Renu Vig appreciated their commitment and described blood donation as a vital service to society. “Donating blood is one of the simplest yet most meaningful ways to serve humanity. Each unit of blood has the potential to save life and support families in times of medical need,” she said.

The camp was organised under the supervision of Prof Parveen Goyal, Programme Coordinator, NSS, and Dr Sonia Sharma, Programme Officer, NSS. They highlighted the role of youth in strengthening public health systems through voluntary participation.

Medical teams ensured proper screening and safety protocols during the camp. Volunteers were provided refreshments and post-donation care.
