BJP Himachal Pradesh President Dr. Rajeev Bindal has strongly condemned the conduct of Youth Congress workers during the recent international AI Summit, terming it a “deliberate attempt to malign India’s global image.” He said the country would not accept any act that undermines national prestige for the sake of political mileage.

Dr. Bindal stated that the protest staged during a high-profile global summit, attended by international diplomats, industry leaders and policymakers, reflected what he described as the Congress party’s “deeply irresponsible and anti-national mindset.” He alleged that the demonstration was not merely political dissent but a calculated move to embarrass India before the international community.

Raising concerns over reports that some of the individuals facing action in connection with the incident had stayed at Himachal Sadan in New Delhi, Dr. Bindal said the matter warrants serious scrutiny. “Himachal Pradesh is known for its patriotism and contribution to national service. If any state facility was used, directly or indirectly, in connection with such an incident, it is a deeply disturbing development and must be thoroughly examined,” he said.

The BJP leader accused the Congress of repeatedly attempting to diminish India’s achievements on global platforms. He referred to past instances where opposition leaders had criticized the government over issues related to national security and foreign policy, and alleged that similar patterns were visible in the present episode.

“At a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is enhancing India’s stature on the global stage, it is unfortunate that some political elements seek to exploit international forums for partisan purposes,” Dr. Bindal said. He emphasized that political disagreements are part of a democracy, but they must not cross the line into actions that could harm the country’s reputation. “India’s image and national interest must remain above party politics,” he added.

Dr. Bindal expressed confidence that the people of Himachal Pradesh and the country would reject what he termed “irresponsible political theatrics” and stand firmly in support of national dignity and democratic decorum.
