Chandigarh, February 10
Domestic helpers of Leader of the Opposition Partap Bajwa’s houses in Sector 8 and Sector 39 here refused to accept the notice sent by the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission. Disclosing this on Tuesday during a press conference, Chairman of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Jasvir Singh Garhi said that the SC Commission’s employee has twice visited the house of the opposition leader to deliver the suo moto notice regarding the casteist remarks against Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO.
Garhi said that Bajwa was first issued a notice during the Tarn Taran election, and now a notice has been issued in another case within 90 days. He said that through this statement, Bajwa has expressed his feudal mindset and the anti-Dalit DNA of the Congress. He said that the state president of the Congress party, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, has also expressed his anti-Dalit mindset through his statements, and the Commission is also going to take action against him soon.
Speaking about the hardships faced by Harbhajan Singh ETO during his life after completing MA, B.Ed., Garhi said that he vociferously raised the voice to educate children, then cracked the Punjab Civil Services Examination and served as an ETO. He said that Harbhajan Singh ETO has contributed a lot to the well-being of marginalized sections of society and made them proud.
The Chairman said that the Congress Party has only humiliated Dalits and these leaders are showing the same through their hate speeches. He said that the Congress Party made many attempts to block the path of Babasaheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Ji, who is the founder of the Constitution of India.
Garhi said that nowadays, leaders of the Congress are spreading false propaganda that the party has given a lot to Dalits, whereas the truth is that the rights of Dalits in India have been secured by Babasaheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar and the Indian Constitution. He said that if Bajwa has faith in the Indian Constitution, then he should come to the Commission’s office on February 11 at 3 pm and submit his explanation.
