Patiala, January 31

Patiala Foundation successfully observed National Road Safety Month 2026 through a series of structured awareness, training and outreach initiatives aimed at promoting responsible road behaviour and strengthening public understanding of road safety regulations across Patiala. Throughout the month, the Foundation conducted multiple Road Safety Awareness Lectures in schools including G.S.S.S. Tripuri, G.S.S.S. Model Town, G.S.S.S. Multipurpose School Patiala; conducted First Responder Training Programmes under the Human Ambulance Initiative at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology and Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law; and also organised various CHIPKAR Reflective Sticker Camps across prominent city locations such as Dukhniwaran Sahib, Labour Chowk Tripuri, and Qila Chowk, in addition to holding awareness sessions across schools, colleges, and universities in the city.

These various programmes focused on adherence to traffic rules, pedestrian safety, helmet and seatbelt usage, emergency response, and the role of citizens in preventing road accidents. As part of capacity building, Basic Life Support (BLS) training sessions were organised for students and caregivers, equipping participants with essential life-saving skills required during road accidents and medical emergencies. Students actively participated in the sessions and took a pledge to follow traffic rules and practice responsible road behaviour, reinforcing the message of safety beyond the classroom.

The awareness lectures and training programmes were conducted under the guidance of Ravee Singh Ahluwalia and were actively supported by dedicated resource persons including our senior members Pawan Goyal, Dr.Abhinandan Bassi, Nishu Gupta (Coordinator) and Ravaldeep Singh. The initiatives were further strengthened by the enthusiastic support of volunteers Harpreet Singh, Aditya Jasrotia, Kawalpreet Singh, Tarika Walia and Navisha. Patiala Foundation also acknowledges the proactive role played by school principals, teachers, and administrative staff of various institutions, who extended their full cooperation by facilitating sessions, mobilizing students, and ensuring smooth coordination, thereby making these awareness programmes impactful and meaningful.

The concluding event of National Road Safety Month 2026 was a Road Safety Awareness Lecture held at G.S.S.S. Pheel Khana, Patiala, where students were sensitized about safe road practices, alertness, and responsible behaviour on roads, marking the successful completion of a month-long commitment to road safety education.

In addition to on-ground activities, Patiala Foundation actively leveraged digital platforms to amplify road safety awareness and adherence. During the National Road Safety Month 2026, the Foundation executed a rigorous online awareness campaign through over 30 dedicated posts and stories, reaching thousands of users and generating strong engagement through likes, shares, comments, and interactions. Educational creatives, awareness messages, and event highlights helped extend the Foundation’s reach beyond physical spaces, ensuring wider community participation and visibility of its vision and objectives.

Patiala Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to all educational institutions, respected principals, teachers, students, volunteers, and partners for their cooperation and support throughout the month. Their collective efforts played a vital role in spreading awareness and reinforcing the importance of road safety at the community level.

Responding to the initiatives organised and conducted by the Foundation,  Ravee Singh Ahluwalia stated, “Road safety is a shared responsibility that must be practiced every day and not be restricted to a month or a week. Through awareness, education, and preparedness, we can reduce road crashes and save lives. I thank the Patiala Foundation team members and volunteers for their continued dedication and support, and we will persist in our efforts to build a safer and more responsible society.”
