PU organises Osteoporosis awareness programme for women

Chandigarh, December 8

In a major initiative aimed at promoting women’s bone health, the Department of Endocrinology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Bhai Ghanaiya Ji Institute of Health, Panjab University, Chandigarh organised an Osteoporosis Awareness Program for Women today at the Panjab University Senate Hall.

Prof. Dr. Sanjay Kumar Bhadada, Head  Department of Endocrinology, PGIMER, addressed the gathering. The program was attended by women from various age groups. The event aimed to raise awareness about osteoporosis, a silent yet highly prevalent condition that significantly increases the risk of fractures, disability, and loss of independence among ageing women.

The program ended with information about an ongoing study at PGIMER, aimed to look at the peri-menopausal bone health of women, with women volunteers coming forward showing interest to be a  part of the same.
