Ludhiana, April 7
Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO on Tuesday conducted a surprise inspection of various branches of the Public Works Department (PWD) Ludhiana division to assess employee punctuality and operational efficiency.
During the visit, he checked all the offices under the PWD Campus and met with the entire staff. He visited many offices included National Highway Circle, Construction Circle, Construction Divisions No. 1, 2 & 3, Ludhiana, Horticulture Division, Ludhiana, National Highway Division No. 1, Ludhiana and Electrical Division, Ludhiana. The inspection was aimed to ensure that the department functions seamlessly, with a focus on timely execution of duties and projects.
During the inspection, the Minister meticulously reviewed attendance registers to verify the presence of staff across different branches. He emphasized the importance of punctuality, stating that timely arrival at the workplace is essential for maintaining discipline and ensuring smooth operations. He directed employees to adhere strictly to office hours, underscoring that consistent punctuality reflects a commitment to public service and enhances the department’s credibility.
Singh also instructed officials to avoid any mismanagement in their work and to prioritize the timely completion of all ongoing projects. He highlighted that delays in project execution could weaken public trust and hamper the government’s efforts to deliver efficient services.
Further, the Minister urged staff to adopt a proactive approach to their responsibilities. He stressed that disciplined work ethic are foundational to achieving departmental goals. He also asked senior officials to closely monitor attendance and project progress, ensuring that any lapses in punctuality or performance are addressed promptly.
