Mandi, April 6

BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal launched a strong attack on the Congress government during the ongoing two-day State Executive meeting in Mandi, stating that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the state has witnessed “only suffering, hardship and misgovernance” over the past three years.

Dr. Bindal informed that the meeting, being held at Atal Sabhagar in Mandi, is being attended by senior party leaders including National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, National Vice President Saudan Singh, State In-charge Shrikant Sharma, Co-incharge Sanjay Tandon, former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, former Union Minister Anurag Thakur, along with MPs, MLAs, former state presidents and members of the State Executive. A series of meetings are being conducted in different phases.

Dr. Bindal said that in the office bearers’ meeting, there was a unanimous view that the present Congress government has failed on all fronts and the people of Himachal Pradesh are deeply distressed. He stated that the unemployed youth in the state are struggling for jobs, with government recruitment virtually stalled, leading to widespread frustration. Government employees are facing hardships due to delays in salaries, while retired employees are forced to protest on the streets for their rightful dues.

Dr. Bindal further said that the Congress government has betrayed lakhs of women by failing to fulfill its promise of providing ₹1,500, which has led to growing anger among them. Farmers are distressed, and the common man is reeling under rising prices and heavy taxation.

Dr. Bindal accused the government of imposing a severe financial burden on the public—high VAT on diesel followed by a proposed ₹5 cess, increased registration fees, hike in HRTC fares, and rising prices at ration depots have collectively strained household budgets. “This government believes not in relief, but in burdening people with tax after tax,” he remarked. He also alleged that “mafia raj” has taken over the state, with mining, forest and land mafias operating freely under government patronage. “This is no longer a people’s government, but a government run for mafias,” he said.

Dr. Bindal asserted that the BJP State Executive has resolved to launch a mass movement to oust what he termed a “corrupt, anti-people and authoritarian government.” In conclusion, he said that BJP workers will take to the streets across the state and expose the Congress government’s policies before the people. “The battle is now clear—people versus an anti-people government, and the people will prevail,” he stated firmly.
