Ludhiana, March 8
Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu today held a press conference at the district BJP office in Ludhiana and raised questions about the announcement made by the Punjab government to give Rs 1,000 per month to women in the budget presented. Bittu alleged that the announcement made by the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab in the last phase of its tenure to give Rs 1,000 to women is actually a fraud. He asked the government to give Rs 60,000 to women for the entire five years.
Bittu also raised questions about other announcements made in the budget and expressed concern over the state’s fiscal situation. Commenting on Ludhiana MP and Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Bittu said that people do not want to invite him to their homes. He asked how much development work has been done in the state in the last few years.
Bittu claimed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s rally in Moga on March 14 will lay the foundation for the 2027 assembly elections. The people of Punjab want a double engine government. He also raised questions about the condition of schools in the state.
