Bengaluru, January 4
CSIR-Fourth Paradigm Institute, Ministry of Science & Technology, Union Government, will be organising a National Workshop on “Hydro-Meteorological Extreme Events in Himalayas (HEEH-2026)” from January 15 to 16, 2026. The workshop, being held at Bengaluru, is a platform for discussing the crucial role of Science, Innovation and Collaboration in enhancing the disaster resilience and climate adaptation over the Indian Himalayan Region.
The workshop includes distinguished speaker sessions from premier research and academic institutions, universities and will be participated by various stakeholders from state governments, research scholars and students across India. Dr. M.Ravichandran, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Union Government of India, will grace the occasion as the chief guest.
Indian Meteorological Society (IMS) President Dr. Anand Sharma has been extended a special invitation to deliver a keynote address at the Workshop. The Director of the Institute Dr. Gopal Krishna Patra, has conveyed Dr. Sharma that his pioneering contributions and esteemed leadership skills will be a great inspiration to their target audience.
“Your valuable participation will add great strength to the deliberations and contribute to the success of the workshop”, he mentioned in the invite extended to Dr. Sharma. Dr. Patra further urged Dr. Sharma, “In view of your expertise, we sincerely request your kind consent to accept our invitation and deliver a keynote address and kindly acknowledge the same.
