CT Group of Institutions, North Campus, Maqsudan organized a two-day Inter-Department Athletics Meet 2026, celebrating sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical excellence among students. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments who actively competed in a variety of athletic competitions and fun games, making the event vibrant and energetic.
The first day of the athletics meet began with an impressive March Past by students representing different departments, reflecting discipline, unity, and team spirit. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Inspector Surinder Kumar, in charge of CIA Staff, CP Jalandhar, who motivated the students to actively participate in sports and emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
Following the opening ceremony, various track events, field events, and fun games were conducted including 100 Meter Race, 200 Meter Race, 400 Meter Race, 800 Meter Race, 4×100 Meter Relay Race, Long Jump, Shot Put, Sack Race, Three-Leg Race, Tug of War, and Lemon Race, where students showcased remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and competitive spirit.
On the second day, the final rounds of various competitions were conducted with great excitement and participation. Adding to the lively spirit of the event, teachers and faculty members also participated in special games, encouraging students and making the competition even more engaging.
The athletics meet concluded with a grand prize distribution ceremony graced by Chief Guest Inspector Meena K. Pawarr, In-charge Traffic Education Cell, Jalandhar, and Special Guest Balraj Singh Chauhan, International Cyclist, who appreciated the efforts of the participants and congratulated the winners for their outstanding performances.
More than 300 students enthusiastically participated in the two-day sporting event. In the final results, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering secured the Overall Trophy, while the Department of Computer Application emerged as the Runner-Up.
Rohit from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering was declared the Best Male Athlete, while Jannat from the Department of Management was awarded the Best Female Athlete for their outstanding performances throughout the athletics meet. Chairman, CT Group Charanjit Singh Channi appreciated the initiative and emphasized that sports activities play a crucial role in developing discipline, confidence, and teamwork among students.
Managing Director, CT Group Prof Dr. Manbir Singh highlighted that such events help students maintain a balance between academics and physical fitness while promoting leadership qualities. Executive Director, CT Group Dr. Nitin Tandon appreciated the organizing team and stated that the athletics meet reflects CT Group’s commitment to the holistic development of students.
Campus Director, CT Group of Institutions Maqsudan Campus Dr. Anurag Sharma expressed satisfaction over the enthusiastic participation and shared that such events encourage students to showcase their talent beyond the classroom while strengthening the spirit of healthy competition.
The winners were awarded trophies, medals, and certificates as a mark of recognition for their achievements. The event concluded on a high note, reinforcing the spirit of sportsmanship, unity, and teamwork among the CT Group family.
