Punjab Congress submits 26,85,828 signatures against ‘vote-chori’

New Delhi/Chandigarh, November 20

Punjab Congress leaders today submitted 26,85,828 signatures against the ‘vote-chori’ (vote theft) to the party high command. Congress general secretary in-charge Punjab Bhupesh Bhagel, PPCC president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and the CLP leader Partap Singh Bajwa submitted the signed forms to the general secretary organisation KC Venugopal.

Talking to media persons, Bhagel said that like everywhere else in the country, Punjab had seen an overwhelming response to the campaign, ‘vote chor, gaddi chhor’ and the party had got about 27 lakh signatures from the state.

PPCC president Warring said that the campaign against the vote theft had seen phenomenal support in Punjab as was evident from the number of people who signed the forms against the vote theft. He said, besides the PCC, the State Youth Congress and the Mahila Congress also contributed in mobilsing people against the vote theft in the state.

The CLP Leader Bajwa said that Punjab will definitely stop the BJP’s “vote theft” campaign. “I can say with full confidence and full guarantee that Punjab will block vote theft”, he asserted.

Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra, Haryana Congress president Rao Narendra Singh and general secretary in charge Assam Bhanwar Jitendra Singh were also present on the occasion.
