Punjab Guv Interacts with Participants of “Netrutva Sadhana–XVII” Programme

The Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria, today held an interactive session at Lok Bhavan, Punjab, with the participants of the six-day residential Certificate Course in Socio-Political Leadership titled “Netrutva Sadhana–XVII”. The programme is jointly organised by the Institute for Inclusive Policy and Governance (IIPG), associated with Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, and the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh.

Sharing his views, the Governor emphasised the importance of developing sensitive, inclusive and responsible leadership for effective nation-building. He stressed the need for lifelong learning and urged the participants to guide society by applying their knowledge and experiences for the larger public welfare. He noted that continuous learning and reflection are essential qualities of effective leaders in a rapidly changing global environment.

The Governor further stated that residential certificate courses in socio-political leadership, such as “Netrutva Sadhana”, play a vital role in strengthening personality development, policy perspective and values of public service among youth. He appreciated the contributions of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini in promoting leadership development, good governance and civic engagement.

Urging the youth to actively participate in democratic processes, the Governor called for the adoption of evidence-based policymaking and the performance of professional responsibilities with a spirit of service. He also highlighted the decisive role of young professionals in realising the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047”.

During the interaction, participants shared their experiences and highlighted how the programme has helped them develop improved personality traits, deeper self-awareness and a clearer understanding of leadership through the orientation sessions. The programme has brought together 40 participants from diverse professional backgrounds on a common platform, providing them training to enhance leadership skills, policy thinking and practical understanding of governance.
