Chandigarh, February 21

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab State Media Incharge Baltej Pannu on Saturday said that under the excellent industrial policies of the AAP government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab has registered remarkable growth in investment and emerged as a preferred destination for both domestic and global investors. He said that the steady rise in Foreign Direct Investment reflects the growing confidence of investors in Punjab’s governance and industrial climate.

Pannu stated, “Due to the excellent industrial policies of the AAP government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab has made a significant leap in terms of investment. It is a matter of great pride for Punjab and Punjabis that Foreign Direct Investment in the state is continuously witnessing substantial growth.”

Highlighting Punjab’s improved national standing, Pannu said, “It is the result of a secure industrial environment that Punjab has achieved a major milestone by moving from 14th to 11th position in the national ranking. Renowned multinational companies from across the world are now making Punjab their first choice.”

Sharing comparative figures, Pannu said that from March 2022 till February 2026, Punjab has scripted a new chapter of development. “During this period, the state has received an average annual investment of ₹40,000 crore. So far, under the tenure of the Mann government, a total investment of ₹1.34 lakh crore has been made,” he said, adding that these figures demonstrate how Punjab’s economic condition and industrial framework have become far more transparent and robust than during previous regimes.

Drawing a comparison with earlier governments, Pannu said, “During the tenure of the Congress governments led by Captain and Channi, annual investment was limited to only ₹23,000 crore, and during their entire five-year term, total investment amounted to only ₹1.17 lakh crore.”

Pannu further said, “During the Akali-BJP government, the situation was even worse. Annual investment was merely ₹6,600 crore, and in five years only ₹32,999 crore investment took place. It is clear that the previous governments did not have clean intentions, due to which Punjab kept falling behind.”

Pannu also informed that the ‘Invest Punjab’ Summit will be held in March, with participation from hundreds of major companies from India and abroad. “Through this event, large-scale new investment will come to Punjab, which will not only increase government revenue but will also create lakhs of new employment opportunities for the youth of the state,” he said.

Pannu concluded, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the government is working with full dedication towards making Punjab economically prosperous and restoring it as a flourishing ‘Rangla Punjab’ once again.”
