Chandigarh, November 23
Haryana Labour Minister Anil Vij said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the present government has introduced historic and wide-ranging reforms in labour laws, benefitting crores of workers across the country. Every worker will now receive an employment letter, a Provident Fund (PF) account, ESIC health facilities, and legal guarantee of minimum wages.
Responding to questions asked by the media persons today, Vij said launched a sharp attack on the Congress saying, “During the Congress rule, the labour class was consistently neglected because Congress leaders ‘spent their time with big industrialists’ and paid no attention to the problems of ordinary workers.” He added, “Congress never cared about the common man. Look at their old photographs—you will only find big industrialists around them, not labourers.”
Vij stated that the foundation of any nation’s growth lies in the cordial relationship between workers and industrialists. “Many labour-related laws in India were outdated and framed during the British era, making reforms essential. The Modi government has abolished these outdated provisions and introduced practical, modern, and worker-friendly laws.”, he added.
