Chandigarh/Narwana, November 11

The General Secretary of All India Congress Committee and Sirsa MP Kumari Selja today visited the residence of Amarjeet Nain, a brave soldier of the Indian Army who was martyred in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, in his village Jajanwala (Jind district) to pay her respects. “The entire nation is proud of his bravery and sacrifice. May God grant peace to the departed soul and give strength to his family to bear this immense loss”, she said.

Later, addressed the media at the Haryal Tourist Complex in Narwana, Selja strongly criticized the BJP government for ignoring public concerns and engaging in politics of misinformation. Selja said that the Narwana Assembly constituency falls under her parliamentary area, and she regularly visits the region to listen to people’s grievances and work toward resolving them.

Launching a sharp attack on the BJP, Selja said that the government is running away from real issues and, with elections approaching, has again resorted to false promises and hollow rhetoric. Instead of talking about their development work, BJP leaders, she said, remain busy targeting the opposition. Responding to questions about BJP leaders blaming one another during the Bihar elections, Selja said that it is unfortunate that ruling party leaders are indulging in mudslinging rather than telling the public about their own performance.

“BJP should first clarify who its next Chief Minister will be. Instead, it is engaged in political theatrics”, said Selja, while adding that people have now seen through the BJP’s tactics and in the coming days, the Mahagathbandhan will form the government. “This time, there is tremendous enthusiasm among the people, especially the youth, who are hopeful for a new direction for their future. The public believes that once the Mahagathbandhan government comes to power, a new wave of development will sweep through the state”, she added.

Commenting on the Delhi incident, Selja said the explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi is extremely tragic and concerning.
