Chandigarh, February 24
Former Punjab Minister and former State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Manoranjan Kalia, today strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party government over its newly announced “Meri Rasoi” scheme, calling it a desperate attempt to mislead voters in an election year.
“In this election year, the AAP government has brought a new scheme called ‘Meri Rasoi’, under which pulses, sugar, turmeric, salt and oil are promised to 40 lakh families covering 1.33 crore people. This is nothing but an attempt to influence voters,” said Kalia.
Kalia further stated, “Earlier this year, the government had announced 10 lakh Health Insurance for the families of Punjab, where one lakh was insured by United India Insurance Company and nine lakh by the State Health Agency. I had raised several questions in a press conference regarding that scheme, but till date no answers have been given by the government.”
Kalia accused the AAP government of consistently failing to fulfill its manifesto promises. “The promise of giving ₹1,000 per month to women has not been fulfilled. The commitment of providing 25 lakh jobs to youth remains unachieved. The tall claims of making Punjab corruption-free within one month of forming the government have proven hollow,” Kalia asserted.
Taking a sharp dig at the ruling party, Kalia added, “Now once again, just before elections, the government is trying to lure people with announcements of distributing ration in installments. But the people of Punjab are wise and will not fall for such false promises.”
Expressing confidence about the future, Kalia concluded, “It is clearly written on the wall of time that in the 2027 Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party government will be shown the door by the people of Punjab.”
