On Saturday, a delegation from the OBC Welfare Parliamentary Committee met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the CM residence. The Chief Minister emphasized that the OBC Parliamentary Committee plays a vital role in advancing social justice and inclusive development. He noted that the state has established legal and institutional mechanisms for OBC welfare, ensuring that policy reviews, feedback, and follow-ups help deliver the benefits of various schemes to every OBC family.
Dhami highlighted that nearly 90 caste and sub-caste communities are listed as OBCs in the state, and the government is working with full commitment toward their development. State policies and budgets, he said, are designed with the welfare of the poor, marginalized, and weaker sections in mind. Social security schemes such as old-age, widow, and disability pensions are being effectively delivered to those in need.
The delegation was led by Committee Chairman MP Ganesh Singh, accompanied by MPs Vijay Baghel, Dr. Swami Sachchidanand Hari Sakshi (Sakshi Maharaj), Vidyut Baran Mahato, Rodmal Nagar, Ramashankar Vidyarthi Rajbhar, Dr. Ashok Kumar Yadav, Girdhari Yadav, Mastan Rao Yadav Bida, Rajendra Gehlot, Shubhashish Khuntia, Mayank Kumar Nayak, and Dr. Bhim Singh.
Also present were Lok Sabha Joint Secretary Atul Anand, Lok Sabha Deputy Secretary Puneet Bhatia, Additional Secretary to the CM Manmohan Mainali, PNB Zonal Manager Anupam, and other officials.
