Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand Government, Anand Bardhan, conducted an on-site inspection of Bajrang Setu located at Tapovan in Tehri Garhwal district. During the inspection, Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department, Om Prakash, provided detailed information to the Chief Secretary regarding the engineering structure, technical features, and construction aspects of the bridge. The Chief Secretary reviewed the progress of the project and safety standards, issuing necessary directions.
Subsequently, the Chief Secretary inspected the Hilans Himalayan Restaurant situated at Plasda in Narendra Nagar block. The restaurant’s operator, Beena Pundir, presented details about the daily customer footfall and sales. She also informed that the restaurant had received ₹6 lakh from the REAP project, ₹3 lakh as a bank loan, and ₹1 lakh as CLF contribution.
During the inspection, the Chief Secretary directed that more tree plantation should be ensured around the restaurant premises and that the menu should be displayed clearly and systematically, so that tourists and visitors can avail better facilities.
The Chief Secretary stated that such local-level initiatives linked to tourism and livelihood will be further strengthened to accelerate regional development.
