Chandigarh, November 15

Trident Group proudly welcomed a new cohort of 55 ITI students who have joined the organisation for On-the-Job Training (OJT) under the Dual System of Training (DST) Scheme—a national initiative designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical industrial experience.

The trainees, representing trades such as Fitter, Electrician, Sewing Technology and Technician (Wet Processing), have been selected from Government ITIs across Barnala, Bathinda, Malerkotla, and Barnala (Girls). Through this six-month programme, students will gain first-hand exposure to professional work environments while applying the theoretical knowledge acquired during their classroom training.

During the induction session, the trainees were encouraged to demonstrate sincerity, honesty, enthusiasm, and teamwork throughout their training period. They were also advised to maintain discipline and show respect towards their supervisors and mentors—qualities essential for personal and professional growth.

Each trainee will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 25,000, and they were guided to manage their finances prudently and cultivate a habit of saving during the programme. The students expressed heartfelt gratitude to Trident Group for offering financial support along with invaluable industrial exposure that will strengthen their career prospects. They were reminded that their dedication and performance would set a standard for future DST batches.

The Dual System of Training (DST), introduced by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India, aims to integrate theoretical instruction with hands-on industry experience, ensuring ITI trainees acquire employable and industry-relevant skills. Initially launched in 2016 and revised in 2019, the scheme continues to play a pivotal role in aligning vocational education with workforce needs.

Through this initiative, Trident Group reaffirms its commitment to skill development and youth empowerment, offering aspiring professionals an opportunity to build meaningful careers through real-world learning and industry engagement.
