Chandigarh, December 13
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Marketing Division), Punjab State Office, Chandigarh, organised a one-day Official Language Officers’ Conference yesterday under the aegis of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Office–1), Chandigarh. The conference was held in the conference hall of the Punjab State Office, with participation from 52 Official Language Officers/In-charges/Translators representing member offices of TOLIC (Office–1).
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Jagjit Kumar, Senior Hindi Officer, Indian Oil, followed by the Indian Oil Official Language Song. On the occasion, Ashutosh Gupta, Executive Director, Indian Oil, welcomed Neena Malhotra, Member Secretary, TOLIC (Office–1) and Deputy Director (Official Language), Income Tax Department, Chandigarh, along with other distinguished guests and speakers by presenting them with shawls and books.
During the conference, a book titled “Uttar Adhunik Vimarsh (Postmodern Discourse)”, authored by Dr. Jagjit Kumar, was released. The book presents an in-depth discussion on various dimensions and trends of postmodernism, including literature, media, language, and its impact and relevance in the Indian context. In his presidential address, Ashutosh Gupta stated that Indian Oil is fully committed to the effective implementation of Hindi as the Official Language and actively supports the initiatives of TOLIC (Office–1), Chandigarh. He also highlighted that Indian Oil, Punjab State Office, has received the First Prize from the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, for outstanding implementation of Official Language.
At the conclusion of the programme, Anurag Anand, General Manager (Human Resources), Indian Oil, conducted the feedback session. Representatives from the member offices of TOLIC (Office–1) appreciated the conference and described it as highly useful.
