Chandigarh, December 29
The Panjab University (PU), Dr. S.S. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (UICET) has received a contribution of Rs. 15 lakh from its alumnus Mr. Sanjay Samaddar (1984 batch) towards the procurement of 150 licences of ASPEN Plus, a widely used process simulation software in the chemical and allied industries.
Samaddar currently serves as Vice President at ArcelorMittal and is Chief Executive Officer, ArcelorMittal Europe – Long Products. The contribution is expected to strengthen teaching, learning, and research at UICET by enabling students and faculty to access industry-standard simulation tools used for chemical process design, optimisation, and analysis. The availability of ASPEN Plus licences will contribute to hands-on training, enhance alignment between academic instruction and industrial practice, and contribute to improved employability and research preparedness of students.
