Jalandhar, June 2
BJP National Spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill today visited Raipur village in Jalandhar Cantt to extend relief to families devastated by a massive fire that claimed the life of a four‑year‑old child and reduced the homes of nearly 100 labourers to ashes. Shergill, accompanied by BJP District President Sushil Sharma, distributed essential supplies to the affected families who, for the past ten days, had been forced to sleep in open fields without water, shelter or electricity.
Interacting with the affected families, Shergill affirmed, “Our District President Sushil Sharma is standing here with us, and together we will extend all possible assistance.” He noted that the relief camp was being organized under the directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to support those in need.
Shergill highlighted that within just four hours, the team mobilized essential supplies including bedding, cots, bedsheets, medicines, food items, utensils, tarpaulins and even treats for children such as chocolates and candies. He added that additional relief materials will continue to arrive over the next three to four days to further aid the affected families.
