Chandigarh, May 4

Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Bittu, reacting to the BJP’s emphatic performance in West Bengal, declared that the “takhta palat” moment is now headed for Punjab. He asserted that people in the state have already made up their minds to usher in change for the betterment of Punjab.

Bittu pointed out that many citizens live in fear due to cases being registered against those who dare to oppose the government, yet a growing number have resolved to back the BJP. In his sharp remarks, he said the West Bengal verdict mirrors Punjab’s own reality—where mafia, drugs, and illegal sand mining dominate the discourse. “It was regime change there, and now it’s Punjab’s turn. People are fed up. Why is BJP rising? Because we have only one agenda—development.”

He accused opposition-led state governments of indulging in blame games and targeting the BJP and the Centre instead of fixing their own failures. According to him, people have begun to see through this diversion and are now embracing development as the true path to progress. He added that the West Bengal results have electrified the BJP cadre, boosting morale and strengthening the resolve to replicate that momentum in Punjab.
