Administration and Aas Ehsaas NGO organize Nukkad Natak Championship

In a strong step towards youth awareness and social change, “Bachpan Ki Awaaz – Inter-School Nukkad Natak Championship” was successfully organized by District Administration Ludhiana and Aas Ehsaas NGO at Government Senior Secondary Smart School (GSSSS), PAU. The event, themed “Yudh Nashea Virudh”, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 10 schools bringing together young voices to highlight the impact of drug abuse on society.

The event was graced by Vice Chairperson, Punjab Child Rights Commission Gunjeet Ruchi Bawa, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Poonam Singh, Actor & Singer Mandy Sandhu, DEO Dimple Madaan. Principal PAU School Dr. Pardeep Kumar was also present with his staff and students.

Addressing the gathering, ADC (General) Poonam Singh appreciated the initiative, stating that such platforms empower students to become ambassadors of change and play a vital role in spreading awareness at the grassroots level. Ms. Gunjeet Ruchi Bawa, while interacting with students and parents, highlighted the importance of child rights awareness and encouraged children to raise their voice against social evils. She also emphasized the significance of Child Helpline 1098 and stated that every child deserves a safe, aware, and supportive environment to grow and thrive.

The competition featured impactful street-style performances judged by a panel of esteemed jury members including Karamjeet S Grewal, Punjabi Master from GHS Kheri Jhameri; Superjit Kaur, Punjabi Mistress from SOE Model Town and Varinder Kumar from Block Resource Coordinator Ludhiana-2 . Teams were evaluated on theme relevance, creativity, expression and overall impact.

The champion trophy was lifted GSSS Sohian along with the cash prize of Rs 11,000 whereas, the first runner up trophy was awarded to GSSS Dhaka Boys along with Rs 5,100. The 2nd runner up trophy was lifted by GSSS Tahli Sahib along with cash prize of Rs 3,100 and the Best Performer trophy was awarded from GSSS Sohian along with Rs 2,100. The stage was conducted by Rama Khanna and Harpreet Kaur.

The event concluded with a strong message of collective responsibility towards building a drug-free and aware society, with students emerging as powerful catalysts of change.
