Dr. Rimesh Pal, Associate Professor, Department of Endocrinology, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, has been awarded the prestigious Rising Star in Endocrinology Award 2026 by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE) at its Annual Meeting held in Las Vegas, USA, in April 2026.
The AACE Rising Star in Endocrinology Award is an international recognition conferred upon promising early-career endocrinologists for outstanding contributions to clinical endocrinology, academic scholarship, and research. Notably, Dr. Pal is the only recipient based at an Indian institution to have received this distinction to date, highlighting the growing academic impact of endocrinology research from India.
Dr. Pal’s academic and clinical work spans several areas of endocrinology, including metabolic bone disease, osteoporosis, sarcopenia and type 2 diabetes mellitus. He has authored numerous scientific publications in reputed international journals and has contributed actively to endocrine education and research. Earlier this year, Dr. Pal had been conferred with the Dr. IA Modi award (young clinician category) by the Global Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (GAPIO).
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Pal expressed gratitude to his parents, wife, department chief, mentors, colleagues, trainees, and all well-wishers for their continued encouragement and support. He acknowledged PGIMER, Chandigarh for fostering a strong academic and research-oriented environment, and appreciated AACE for promoting an inclusive and truly global endocrine community.
The recognition is expected to further strengthen international academic collaborations and inspire young physician-scientists and endocrinologists from India to pursue impactful clinical and translational research.
