Patiala, May 15

Under its ongoing road safety campaign, Project SADAK, Patiala Foundation successfully organised an interactive and educational Road Safety Awareness Session at NEEV DMW Primary School on 15th May 2026. The session was conducted through the Foundation’s flagship educational initiative — the Patiala Foundation Children Challan Book — designed as an innovative and engaging learning tool to help children understand road safety rules, civic discipline, and responsible behaviour on roads from an early age.

The awareness session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of Class 4th, who actively engaged in discussions and practical learning activities focused on traffic awareness, pedestrian safety, traffic symbols, helmet usage, zebra crossing discipline, and responsible citizenship. The initiative aimed to build awareness among young students in a simple yet impactful manner so that they not only learn road safety themselves but also encourage their families and communities to follow traffic rules responsibly.

The Patiala Foundation Children Challan Books distributed during the session were generously sponsored by HDFC Bank as part of supporting awareness-driven community initiatives focused on child education and road safety.

Ravee Singh Ahluwalia addressed the students during the session and shared insightful and interactive guidance on the importance of following traffic regulations in daily life. Through relatable examples and engaging conversations, he explained how small acts of responsibility on roads can help prevent accidents and save lives.

A major highlight of the session was the detailed introduction and demonstration of the Patiala Foundation Children Challan Book. Ahluwalia explained to the students how the challan book should be filled and how it acts as a powerful educational tool for understanding road safety in a practical and memorable way. He guided the students on observing traffic violations around them, identifying unsafe road practices, and responsibly recording them in the challan book as a learning exercise. He further explained that the concept behind the Children Challan Book is not to penalise individuals, but to develop observation skills, civic awareness, discipline, and a sense of responsibility among children. The activity encourages students to become active participants in promoting safer roads and helps them understand the consequences of careless behaviour on roads.

Speaking during the session, Ahluwalia said, “Road safety education should begin at an early age because aware children grow into responsible citizens. The Children Challan Book is not just an activity book — it is a powerful tool that helps children understand traffic discipline, observe their surroundings responsibly, and become ambassadors of safer roads within their homes and communities.”

The Foundation was also delighted to have the active support and participation of its intern, Armita Sohi from FLAME University, who joined the awareness drive and interacted with the students during the session. She explained the objectives and vision behind Project SADAK and motivated students to actively contribute towards making roads safer for everyone. Her participation added youthful energy and encouragement to the initiative.

Patiala Foundation also appreciated the dedicated efforts and support of Ravinder Singh, for contributing towards the smooth execution and coordination of the awareness session and actively supporting the Foundation’s mission of promoting road safety awareness among children and communities.

Patiala Foundation expressed heartfelt gratitude to Saroj Amoli, Headmistress of the school, for warmly welcoming the initiative and continuously encouraging activities focused on student awareness and social responsibility. The Foundation also thanked Harpreet Kaur for her valuable support, cooperation, and encouragement towards the successful execution of the session.

Patiala Foundation further shared that the Patiala Foundation Children Challan Book is a copyrighted educational initiative developed by the Foundation as a unique awareness tool to promote road safety learning among children in an engaging and practical manner. The Foundation believes that innovative educational methods can play a transformative role in shaping safer communities and more responsible future citizens.

The Foundation also extended an open invitation to schools, educational institutions, and community organisations to come forward and become part of this meaningful initiative under Project SADAK. By collaborating together, the Foundation aims to expand road safety awareness among children and create a stronger culture of civic responsibility and safer roads across society.

The Foundation believes that educational institutions play a vital role in shaping responsible future citizens, and such awareness initiatives create long-term impact by instilling discipline, empathy, and civic understanding among children at an early age. Through Project SADAK and the Children Challan Book initiative, Patiala Foundation continues to work towards creating a culture of awareness, accountability, and safer roads across communities. The session concluded with enthusiastic participation from students, interactive discussions, and a collective pledge to follow road safety rules and encourage others to do the same.
