Chandigarh launches SIR revision; draft to be published on July 21

Nishant Kumar Yadav, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh, today addressed a press conference regarding the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Photo Electoral Roll with respect to 01.07.2026 being undertaken as per the directions of the Election Commission of India.

During the press conference, it was informed that the Draft Electoral Roll will be published on 21.07.2026 under the Special Intensive Revision programme. It was further informed that the current mapping of electors in Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency has reached 72.29%.

As per the approved schedule of SIR-2026, House-to-House visits by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be conducted from 15.06.2026 (Monday) to 14.07.2026 (Tuesday) for verification and collection of Enumeration Forms from existing electors.

The District Election Officer informed that every existing elector shall be required to fill up the Enumeration Form. The form may be obtained from the concerned BLO or can also be filled online through the voter portal: voters.eci.gov.in

It was further informed that the BLO shall collect one copy of the Enumeration Form and provide acknowledgement by signing the second copy, which should be retained by the elector for record purposes. Enumeration Forms may also be submitted along with supporting documents, wherever required.

The public was also informed that if any eligible elector is left out from the electoral roll, he/she may apply through Form No. 6 for fresh enrolment during the Claims & Objections period from 21.07.2026 (Tuesday) to 20.08.2026 (Thursday). Similarly, electors requiring any correction in their particulars may submit Form No. 8 during the same period.

For assistance related to electoral services, citizens may contact the Voter Helpline Number “1950” on working days. Citizens may also avail the “Book a Call Request with BLO” facility available on the ECINET Mobile Application and the voter portal.

The District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh urged all eligible citizens to actively participate in the Special Intensive Revision process and ensure timely submission of Enumeration Forms for maintaining an accurate and updated electoral roll.
