Chandigarh, June 19
Arrangements for the conduct of NEET-UG 2026 in Chandigarh have been finalized to ensure the examination is held in a smooth, fair, and transparent manner. On 19th June 2026, Deputy Commissioner Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, briefed on the comprehensive preparations made by the administration. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is scheduled for 21st June 2026, with approximately 3,800 candidates registered to appear in Chandigarh for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses.
Seven examination centres have been designated in schools across the city. To safeguard the integrity of the examination, the transportation of secret and confidential material from designated banks to the centres will be carried out under strict security escort by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), accompanied by the respective Centre Superintendent. Electronic jammers have been installed at all centres to prevent the use of mobile phones or electronic devices, while double-layer frisking of candidates will be conducted at entry points — first by the local police and then by a professional agency hired by the NTA.
All centres have been equipped with basic amenities such as drinking water, seating arrangements, adequate lighting, ventilation, and sanitation facilities to ensure the comfort of candidates. Duty Magistrates have been appointed at each centre to oversee the examination process, maintain order, and address any exigencies. Candidates have been advised to carry their admit card along with a valid government-issued photo ID and report at least one hour before the commencement of the examination. The District Administration has appealed for the cooperation of candidates, guardians, and the general public to facilitate the smooth conduct of NEET-UG 2026.
