Tewari pushes for restoration and better maintenance of Leisure Valley

Member of Parliament, Chandigarh and former Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Manish Tewari, today requested and advised the Commissioner of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, Amit Kumar and the Chief Engineer of the Municipal Corporation, Sanjay Arora, to redevelop, curate and manicure the entire stretch of Leisure Valley from the Bougainvillea Gardens in Sector 2 all the way up to Sector 36. Tewari was speaking while inaugurating (an open-air gymnasium in the Leisure Valley, which was dedicated to the use of the people of Chandigarh on the request of the Resident Welfare Association, Sector 10, Chandigarh.

Tewari said that the Leisure Valley and the attendant stretch from the Bougainvillea Gardens in Sector 2 all the way to Sector 36 represent some of the most beautiful green areas in Chandigarh. Unfortunately, the entire stretch of this green space gives an impression that it is unkempt and not properly maintained. He advised that a holistic and comprehensive view must be taken by the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation in order to rejuvenate and make this green space as the most beautiful and coveted green space in the country.
