Department of Posts to organise special new Aadhaar enrolment and updation campaign till August 28

To enhance accessibility of Aadhaar services and facilitate citizens, the Department of Posts has provided Aadhaar enrolment and updation Centers across 26 Post Offices in Chandigarh and Mohali. Aadhaar enrolment and updation services are now available at the following Post Offices: Aerocity, Aerodrome, Chandigarh GPO, Dera Bassi, High Court, Kharar, Kurali, Manimajra, New Sectt., Sector 08, Sector 12, Sector 14, Sector 19, Sector 22, Sector 26, Sector 30, Sector 36, Sector 47, Sector 55, Sector 59, Sector 60, Sector 71, Sohana, Sialba Majri, Sunny Enclave and Zirakpur Post Office.

To ensure maximum convenience for the public, special Aadhaar services will also be available on all Sundays and Gazetted Holidays up to 28 August 2026 at Chandigarh GPO, Manimajra, Zirakpur, Kharar, Sector 19 PO & Sector 55 Post Office. On Sundays, Aadhaar services will be available from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM. Further, the Aadhaar Centre at Chandigarh GPO, Sector 17 will remain operational with extended working hours from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM, enabling citizens to avail Aadhaar services beyond normal office timings.

The campaign aims to facilitate: New Aadhaar enrolment for eligible residents, Aadhaar updation, including demographic details such as name, address, date of birth, mobile number and e-mail ID, etc., Biometric updates, including fingerprints, iris scan and photograph and Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) for children attaining the ages of 5 years & 15 years.

The campaign has been planned to bring Aadhaar services closer to the public, particularly students, senior citizens, working professionals and residents who may find it difficult to visit Aadhaar centres during regular working hours. Parents, schools and educational institutions are requested to ensure timely Aadhaar updation of students to avoid inconvenience while applying for admissions, scholarships, examinations and various Government services. Residents are encouraged to visit their nearest Aadhaar-enabled Post Office and avail hassle-free Aadhaar enrolment and updation services during the campaign period.
