Dehradun, August 6
Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at Uttarakhand Sadan, New Delhi. On this occasion, discussions were held on the expansion of NCC in Uttarakhand, ensuring effective reach of NCC to border and remote areas, and the development of modern and robust infrastructure for the organization.
During the meeting, the Director General emphasized the need to establish and expand new NCC units in border and remote regions to connect more youth with NCC. He apprised the Chief Minister of various future plans, including the development of modern training infrastructure, strengthening of training facilities, and the establishment of the proposed NCC Academy in the state.

The Chief Minister said that the Uttarakhand government is continuously working for the holistic development of youth, encouraging patriotism, discipline, leadership qualities, and a spirit of service. He stated that the National Cadet Corps is a prestigious organization that instills national character, leadership, confidence, and social responsibility among youth, playing a vital role in nation-building.
The Chief Minister assured full support from the state government for all initiatives related to the expansion of NCC and proposed infrastructure development. He said that every possible assistance would be provided for effective and timely implementation of these projects. He expressed confidence that these efforts would provide greater opportunities for the youth of the state in personality development, leadership training, and national service.
