Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former state president Sunil Jakhar has strongly condemned the attack on Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal in Maharashtra. He appealed to the Maharashtra government to take the strictest possible legal action against the accused and those involved in the incident.
In a social media message regarding the incident, Jakhar wrote, “We strongly condemn the attack on Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal Ji. Dialogue is paramount in politics, not violence. I pray for his speedy recovery.”
Jakhar said that having differences over an issue is one thing, but that does not mean someone should resort to such an attack. He said that the incident is extremely concerning. Praying for Sukhbir Badal’s speedy recovery, he said that strict action should be taken against the perpetrators, as such an incident has happened to him for the second time.
