Ludhiana, September 28
Congress today paid heartfelt tributes to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh on the occasion of his 119th birth anniversary. The programme was organised under the leadership of Pawan Dewan, former President of the District Congress Committee, Ludhiana (Urban) and former Chairman of the Punjab Large Industrial Development Board.
Remembering Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Dewan said that Bhagat Singh sacrificed his life for India’s freedom and for the creation of an egalitarian society. His life, ideals and dedication to the nation continue to inspire the youth and people across the country. He called upon party workers to sincerely and firmly fulfil their responsibilities towards building the India envisioned by the martyrs—an India that is free, prosperous, democratic and based on social equality.
Dewan said that the true tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh would be to adopt his ideals in our lives and remain steadfast in protecting the Constitution, democracy and secular values of the country.
