Dehradun, November 4
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a 3 per cent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees. With this decision, the DA payable to state employees will rise from 60 per cent to 63 per cent. The revised rate will be effective from July 1, 2026.
The decision has been taken in line with the Centre’s move to enhance the Dearness Allowance for employees drawing salary under the Seventh Central Pay Commission from 60 per cent to 63 per cent with effect from July 1, 2026. The Chief Minister has approved a proposal extending the same benefit to state government employees.
The enhanced DA will benefit not only state government personnel but also eligible employees of local bodies, aided educational institutions, state universities, technical institutions and those drawing salaries under the UGC pay scale.
As per the approval granted by the Chief Minister, eligible employees will receive the arrears arising out of the increase in DA for the period from July 1, 2026 to October 31, 2026 in cash.
The decision is expected to provide financial relief to a large number of employees and other eligible beneficiaries across the state.
