Chandigarh, December 24
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal has said that incidents of crime in Fazilka and Rampura Phul have exposed the complete collapse of law and order in Punjab, proving that under the Aam Aadmi Party government, no citizen feels safe anymore. Referring to these incidents, Sukhbir posted on Facebook, “Two unfortunate incidents that occurred yesterday in Punjab have laid bare the true picture of the state’s law and order, making it clear that no one is safe in Punjab anymore. In Fazilka, armed robbers broke into the house of an elderly couple, tied them up, and looted cash and gold-silver ornaments. This is not merely a criminal act, but direct evidence of the government’s failure.”
Sukhbir further mentioned in his post, “On the other hand, in Rampura Phul, a professor who had gone for a morning walk was abducted, brutally beaten, and forced to attempt an online money transfer before being dumped in an unconscious state. When people in Punjab are not safe inside their homes or even during morning hours, how can one expect safety outside or at night? Today, criminals are fearless, while ordinary citizens live in fear.”
The SAD chief took a dig at the Punjab Police, whiloe mentioning in his post, “The police remain confined to statements like “investigation is underway” and “we will catch them soon,” while the government turns away from its real responsibility of ensuring security. The Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab has focused only on misleading propaganda and false advertising, paying no attention to the real issues.”
