Review meeting of the NAKSHA Pilot Project held

​A review meeting of the NAKSHA Pilot Project was held under the chairmanship of Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, to assess the progress of field survey and ground-truthing activities. The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, officials from the Survey of India, representatives of NIC, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh (MCC), NPMU Delhi, and MPSEDC, Bhopal (through video conferencing).

​During the meeting, it was informed that in Sectors 2 to 17, there are approximately 7,000 properties, including both residential and commercial units. Out of these, around 4,500 properties have already been physically visited by the NAKSHA field teams for ground truthing and verification.

​At present, about 20 field teams are deployed daily for the survey work. Despite challenging weather conditions, the teams are making steady progress, and it is expected that the entire exercise will be completed by 31st January 2026.

​The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of all departments and agencies involved and emphasized the importance of timely completion of the pilot project, which is crucial for creating accurate and reliable property records.

​The Chandigarh Administration has appealed to all residents and property owners to extend full cooperation to the field survey teams and to provide requisite details related to property ownership and records whenever requested, so that the survey can be completed smoothly and within the stipulated timeframe.

​The Administration reiterates its commitment to transparent, technology-driven governance and assured citizens that the data collected under the NAKSHA project will be used strictly for official purposes in accordance with established norms.
