Chandigarh/Ropar, January 22
The Combined Annual Training Camp of 2 Chandigarh Battalion NCC was inaugurated at the NCC Academy, Ropar. Around 200 NCC Senior and Junior Division/Wing cadets are participating in the training camp. The camp was formally inaugurated by the Camp Commandant, Colonel D. S. Dhami, SM. Addressing the cadets on the occasion, he stated that the 10-day training camp would provide the cadets with a valuable opportunity for self-assessment and overall development.
During the camp, cadets will undergo physical training and receive instruction in weapons handling, firing, and drill. In addition, experienced instructors will impart training in military subjects such as map reading, field craft, and other related topics. To promote a spirit of competitiveness among the cadets, various sports and recreational activities including volleyball, tug of war, musical chairs, sack race, lemon-spoon race, along with several cultural programmes, will be organised. Furthermore, during the camp, cadets will be provided with important awareness sessions on road safety, first aid, HIV/AIDS prevention, fire safety, and health-related issues.
