CICU delegation welcomes newly appointed customs commissioner Varinder Kaur

A delegation from the Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) called on the newly appointed Customs Commissioner,  Varinder Kaur, to extend a warm welcome and congratulate her on assuming charge of the Customs Commissionerate.

The CICU delegation was led by  Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, and comprised  Honey Sethi, General Secretary,  Gautam Malhotra, Vice President and  Sarvjit Singh, Export Convenor.

During the meeting, the delegation apprised the Customs Commissioner about the significant contribution of Ludhiana’s industrial sector towards exports and economic growth. Various issues and concerns related to exporters, customs procedures, trade facilitation, and ease of doing business were discussed. The delegation expressed confidence that under the leadership of  Varinder Kaur, the Customs Department would continue to work proactively for the benefit of the trade and industry fraternity.

Varinder Kaur appreciated the efforts of CICU in representing the interests of industry and exporters and assured the delegation of the department’s full cooperation in resolving genuine concerns and promoting a business-friendly environment.

Upkar Singh Ahuja stated that close coordination between industry and government departments is essential for enhancing exports and strengthening the competitiveness of Indian manufacturing. He expressed hope for a productive and constructive association with the Customs Commissionerate under the guidance of  Varinder Kaur.

The meeting concluded on a positive note with both sides reaffirming their commitment towards facilitating trade, boosting exports, and supporting the growth of the industrial sector.
